Modern and contemporary stories of posthuman transformation are anticipated and overlapped by the forms taken by tales of metamorphosis. Fictions of bodily transformation are also allegories of new writing technologies and modern technological developments have driven the assembly of new stories that rewrite the boundaries between us, animal, and machines. These shifts in the media environment anticipate others typically identified as cybernetics or intelligence from human beings to machines. Posthuman indicates how human body metamorphoses, since the cybernetic convergence of biological and technological notions of evolutions and their environments have played over images of human and non-human bodies. The idea of posthuman came with the modern coupling of the natural and technological, matters that are envisioned at a new level of technical detail in the first cybernetics at the Macy conferences on technological mechanisms and circularity casualty in mechanical and social systems.
