It was designed by a Methodist minister and a Conservative rabbi so as to reflect the various faith groups who were represented at that conference and the message of interfaith cooperation and work that was central to the keynote addresses by Mary Evelyn Tucker and Jay McDaniel that followed immediately after the service.
