This chapter examines the challenges in identifying the shipwreck at the Legare Anchorage in Florida. Though treasure hunter Gerald Klein publicly declared that he discovered a Spanish galleon, the evidence indicated otherwise. Some of those who assisted George Fischer and contributed to the identification of the wreck to be the HMS Fowey include Rich Johnson, Mendel Peterson and Russ Skowronek.
