Pages are especially vulnerable and problematic for a presentation of Ulysses in a digital format. Each edition of Ulysses offers different page units and paginations—does that eliminate the page as a meaningful unit? If the pages should be preserved in some way in the electronic presentation, how should they be retained, since in all their forms they are bigger than a screen? What would the pages be preserved as in a medium lacking the tangibility of printed pages and also lacking anything that corresponds to a printed page's front and back? This chapter intends to consider some issues regarding pages and throws light on the possible aspects of their future.
