This chapter examines some technical and implementation aspects of a collaborative Chinese-British e-learning endeavour using the Chinese University Teacher Training in English (CUTE) project as a case study. It suggests that e-learning projects must first establish a firm methodological basis before considering any technological choices and implementation options and that the technical implementation must be able to support the chosen pedagogical approach. It also discusses the issues of providing feedback to the users of the system and scaffolding in the context of language learning.
