This chapter examines the processes of collaboration in the eChina-UK Developing e-Learning for Teachers (DEfT) project. This project involves the collaborative development of an e-learning module by academics from the University of Sheffield in Great Britain and from the Beijing Normal University (BNU) in China. It suggests that an intercultural approach to educational design, that draws on differing pedagogies, theories, and collaborative action, can emerge from e-learning initiatives such as the eChina-UK program.
