This chapter examines the management of intellectual property (IP) rights in international e-learning collaborations in the context of the eChina-UK e-Learning Programme. It analyzes how the members of the British and Chinese teams encountered and sought to resolve IP issues. It suggests that though both teams made every possible good effort to reach a principled understanding about the IP rights arrangements, it still remains to be seen how effective these provisions might be when the materials developed within the programme are maintained and used over time.
