This is the second volume of the Studying Multicultural Discourses series. Amongst other things, the book has pointed to the importance to studying culture as discourse and has drawn attention to the study especially of Eastern forms of communication through the particular case of Cultural China. This epilogue does two interrelated things. On the one hand, it reaffirms the book's new and promising discursive approach to Cultural China. To do this, it provides an explicit account of discourse research into contemporary Chinese culture and communication. On the other hand, the epilogue engages with the wider international context and condition of current discourse research surrounding the present study, by reflecting on some of the epistemological and methodological assumptions and consequences of the dominant paradigm.
