There are several approaches that can be taken with corporate governance. This chapter emphasizes a political and historical model for considering the Chinese context of corporate governance regimes. Also, several international convergence movements have been carried out for corporate governance, and the discussion here leads to the convergence direction for transition economies. Empirical evidence on securities market failure and privatization is also analyzed through examining Russian privatization and other reforms on the capital market. This chapter examines China's potential to inform and affect the debates regarding modern comparative corporate governance especially in transition economies.
