This chapter discusses and looks at the prisoners of war (POWs) in Hong Kong and Japan in 1944. Out of the 4,000 POWs who were shipped to Japan, about 2,750 survived and were spread across 12 camps. This year saw the last and smallest draft to Japan, as well as a growing realization that the war was turning in favour of the Allies.
