This chapter discusses the events of the following day, December 26. Chan Chak and party landed at a beach near Nanao. Henry Hsu and others went to a nearby village to make contact with anti-Japanese guerrillas. Word spread that the famous Chan Chak was there, and the party was greeted with great enthusiasm by the local guerrillas. The motor torpedo boats were deliberately sunk. The escape party made their way to the small village of Kowtit.
