This chapter discusses the American involvement in Vietnam. It looks at the nation-building efforts of the Americans in South Vietnam, and how the French influence slowly disappeared from the country as the United States replaced France. The chapter also reiterates that the reason France no longer had a military or economic presence was because Washington and Saigon had pushed France out of Vietnam.
