This chapter discusses farm magazines. It appears that historians have not made much of the role these magazines have played or did not play in inspiring agrarian art in American culture. One common thought among farm magazine editors was that farmers were too busy to do much reading. In this chapter, different farm magazines are discussed, including those that have disappeared from circulation due to the arrival of television. It also looks at the contributions of the existing farm magazines to agrarian art.
