The loss of Northern Kentucky University (NKU) women's basketball team to Drury was a big disappointment. However, NKU had played hard against a team that was simply better than they were. Drury had a special incentive, in that they had defeated them on their own court in February. This game evened the score for two great programs. A rematch at the following week's regional tournament would be great to see. NKU still qualified for the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Tournament after the loss and were still capable of beating anyone for the rest of the postseason. Drury played Lewis to see who would succeed NKU as the Great Lakes Valley Conference champion. Later that day, the seeds for the Great Lakes Regional were announced.
