Here are detailed the laws by which citizenship was finally granted to the Italians. However, they sought further concessions and, as a result, became embroiled in the Roman political quarrels of the decade of the 80s B.C. They became involved in Sulla's quarrels with Sulpicius and Cinna, and finally in Rome's first civil war. The upshot was that they eventually received all that they had asked for.
