Reality TV correlates not only with the rise of surveillance culture, but, more generally, also with the loss of reality, public life, and private life in Western and globalizing techno-culture, with its consumption-inducing military-industrial-academic-entertainment-sport-food complex. This chapter first presents Art Dimsdale's brief review of the reality television show, Face Factor (which originally appeared in Post-Critical Inquiry, special issue on “De-Facing”), as an introduction to this illustrious postcritic's postcritical take on things. This is followed by a review of Dimsdale's book, On Temptation Island: The View from the Hot Tub.
