This chapter discusses the evolution of the Beate Uhse myth in the 1980s. It explains that the major changes in the content of the myth were the feminization of the firm's origins and the prioritizing of good business practices over a social mission. Another change was the function of the myth from a vehicle promoting the firm to a vehicle for understanding German history. The chapter also discusses the questions that remained unanswered about the legacy of the legalization of pornography according to the terms of liberalism.
