It examines how the elegy might help in developing a taxonomy of the various forms of literary transnationalism and discusses the intercultural microcommunities of grief between mourner and mourned and the nation-crossing figurations of death and mourning. This chapter also analyzes the elegies of several poets including Wilfred Owen, W. H. Auden and Denise Levertov.
