This chapter discusses the contents of Galileo's second letter to Christoph Scheiner in relation to their conflicting views about the nature of the sunspots. It explains that this second letter was a response to Tres Epistolae in which Galileo disputed the claims of Scheiner. All the observations and arguments made by Galileo in this letter were published with the assistance of Lodovico Cigoli and Federico Cesi. This chapter also mentions that during this time, it became known that Apelles or Scheiner was a Jesuit.
