Quick Reference

A method of learning a multi-part task, in which the parts are learned and combined sequentially. After the first two parts are mastered, they are combined and practised together until learned. Then the third part is taught by itself after it has been acquired the three parts are combined and practised together until learnt. This procedure is followed for each part until all of them can be practised as a whole. The technique is most appropriate when the parts form a natural and meaningful sequence of actions which need to be practised together. For example, a gymnast's floor sequence.
