 On Peace Accords

Show Summary Details

This chapter discusses the concept of constructive social change and the challenges of peace accords. It argues that the first step toward genuine change is to understand and publicly recognize that the engagement of deep issues and of people and sustained dialogue, is hard work and does not end with a ceasefire or the signing of a paper. Authentic engagement recognizes that conflict remains. Dialogue is permanent and requires platforms that make such engagement at multiple levels of the affected society possible and continuous.
