Sophie Alaux is the daughter of Jean-Pierre Alaux. She lives and works in Paris. In 1974, she was admitted to the École Supérieure d'Arts Graphiques et d'Architecture Intérieure - Penninghen in Paris. She then attended the École des Métiers d'Art, studying art history and engraving with Jacques Houplain, sculpture with Bernard Mougin, and painting with Robert Wogensky.
