(fl Barcelona, 1632–42).

Spanish engraver. He was the most accomplished engraver of his day in Spain and was noted for his excellent portraits, including that of Berenguer D’Oms y de Santapau in the form of an oval, which illustrates L. Morera’s Itinerario espiritual (Barcelona, 1633). In 1634 Olivet engraved the portrait of Don Diego del Corral, after that by Velázquez (c. 1631; Madrid, Prado), for Authentica fides Mathaei (Barcelona) by the theologian Antonio Pérez. In 1634 Olivet also executed the fine portrait of Pere Fontanella framed by Mannerist strapwork. His frontispiece for Fray Gregorio Hurtado de Mendoza’s Anno foliorum in Evangelia (Barcelona, 1638) is conceived in the form of a great Baroque reredos. Olivet was commissioned by the Diputació General de Catalunya to engrave four dies in intaglio to be used as seals.
