This article presents an overview of the practice of ICSID tribunals concerning one important aspect of ICSID arbitration–that of awards of pre- and post-award interest. This question has important pecuniary implications and has presented past tribunals with many problems. Our study is based on the examination of a considerable number of publicly available merits awards and includes useful statistical data.
