Sven Stürmann is accredited Mediator and Legal Advisor at the Office for Harmonisation in the Internal Market (Trade Marks and Designs), OHIM. He collaborated in setting up OHIM's Mediation Service.

Since 24 October 2011, OHIM has been offering its users the option of mediation proceedings, which are designed to assist in amicably resolving disputes relating to Community trade marks or designs.

The purpose of this article is to convey to readers the rationale, the purpose and, above all, the possibilities of OHIM mediation in disputes relating to Community trade marks.
