Case 11a: A 21-year-old man with a diagnosis of Job's syndrome (Hyper-IgE syndrome) was admitted to the hospital with a large right buttock abscess. The patient had a history of recurrent skin abscesses resulting in frequent hospital admissions, as well as an empyema in 2006 that had required surgical drainage.
