A projective test devised by the US psychologist Edwin S. Schneidman (1918–2009) and first published in 1947, often described as a cousin of the TAT, consisting of a series of background pictures—a living room, a street, a bridge, and so on—together with 67 human and animal cutout figures, the respondent's task being to place one or more of the figures on a background and then to tell a story about the resulting picture.
