Quick Reference

A method of interpreting seismic refraction profiles over irregular layers whose slope angles do not exceed 10°. It uses both forward and reverse shooting to obtain matched time-distance graphs. The plus component of the method allows the perpendicular depths to the refractor to be calculated; the minus component is used to determine the seismic velocity in the refracting medium.
