This chapter traces the events of Wednesday February 21, 1838, when people from all over Boston came to the State House. Groups of abolitionists had come from all over the surrounding area to hear a woman address a Committee of the Legislature of the State of Massachusetts. This woman was Angelina Grimké. The Grimké sisters recognised that this was the beginning of a new era.
