Millner, Wayne Vernal (13 January 1913–19 November 1976), college and professional football player and coach, was born in Roxbury, Massachusetts, the son of Charles E. Millner, who worked for a machine belt manufacturing company (his mother’s name is unknown). An outstanding athlete at Salem, Massachusetts, High School, he was named to the 1928 All-Boston, All–North Shore, All-State, and All–New England football teams.
