Balthazar Lobo began his art career sculpting religious figures in a workshop of popular art. In 1927, he enrolled in the school of fine arts in Madrid, but only stayed three months, preferring to work alone. After the civil war, he fled to Paris where he was helped by Picasso and became assistant to Henri Laurens....
