Carlo Mense studied under P. Jansen in Düsseldorf and under Lovis Corinth in Berlin before going on to work in Bonn and Munich and, from 1925, teaching at the academy in Breslau (now Wroclaw, Poland). His early work is Expressionist in outlook....
