A 17-year-old Caucasian male was seen urgently in outpatients with a 3-week history of intermittent pain and swelling of his right knee. He had a past history of heel pain when he was 12 years old which had settled spontaneously. He was otherwise healthy, with no recent trauma and no significant past medical history. A paternal uncle had psoriasis.
