Kiley, Richard (31 March 1922–05 March 1999), actor, was born Richard Paul Kiley in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Leo Joseph Kiley, a chiropractor turned railroad statistician, and Leonore McKenna Kiley. Kiley first attended a progressive school and thrived in the atmosphere of creativity. However, he was then enrolled in a parochial school, St. Thomas the Apostle, where self-expression and creativity were replaced by unquestioning obedience to authority and an overly rigid discipline.
