Russell, Jane (21 June 1921–28 February 2011), film actress, was born Ernestine Jane Geraldine Russell in Bemidji, Minnesota, the eldest child of Roy William Russell and Geraldine Jacobi Russell. Her father was a young army officer; her mother was a former actress and artist's model. During her infancy the family moved to Southern California, where Roy Russell became an office manager. Jane, as she was known, grew up with her four younger brothers on the family's Van Nuys ranch. Tall, pretty, and full-figured, with an abundance of wavy black hair, Jane was popular with the boys at Van Nuys High School, where she was an otherwise indifferent student....
