Françoise Adnet is the daughter of Jacques Adnet who, with his twin brother Jean, was well-known as a set designer in the 1940s and 1950s. Before turning to painting, Françoise was a pianist and the pupil of both Marguerite Long and Alfred Cortot. She received the help and advice of many artists in the family circle, but was particularly influenced by the anguished style and incisive graphics of one Francis Gruber, as evidenced...
