Anton Burger studied at the Städel Institute in Frankfurt am Main under Veit and Jacob Becker. He continued his training for two years at the academies of art in Munich and in Düsseldorf. He worked in Frankfurt, Düsseldorf and Kronberg. From 1857, he settled in Kronberg. Burger painted many alfresco animated landscapes and scenes from peasant life, such as villages, farms, inns and fairs. One of his best-known winter landscape and genre scenes is ...
