In 1870 Maurice Galbraith Cullen's family moved to Montreal, and it was there that he studied sculpture with Louis-Philippe Hébert. In 1888 he left for Paris and enrolled at the École des Beaux-Arts. He held his first exhibition of paintings in Paris in 1892. After his return to Montreal in 1895 he opened a studio, and was elected to the Royal Academy of Canada....
