Born 1786, in Göteborg; died 1854, in Trieste.

Sculptor.

Bengt Erland Fogelberg was a pupil at the academy in Stockholm. In 1820 he went to Rome where his early work garnered some notice. He then returned to Sweden where he was named sculptor of the court. He mastered the treatment of historical subjects and groups borrowed both from antiquity and Scandinavian mythology. He enjoyed great reknown in Sweden. However, his failing health obliged him to depart for Italy and he died en route....
