Painter.

Christian Hansen was a pupil of the painter and schoolmaster Olef Braren. After a period as a painter's apprentice he went on to become a school teacher. He was a chronicler of his own little country, describing the peasants and inhabitants. He was familiar with the German Romantics and Friedrich in particular whose 'naivety' coloured his own work...
