Ange Leccia lives and works in Paris. In 1981, he was awarded the prize of the French Academy in Rome. He teaches at the École des Beaux-Arts in Grenoble. He most often composes 'arrangements', a generic term describing his installations of everyday objects, which he removes from their industrial context and their social purpose: football goals, television sets, images from videos, films, photocopies. 'My starting point is neither ideas nor objects. I start from time to occupy space. I am not trying to promote an idea. What I am trying to do is to give substance to an idea, and I particularly want the materialisation to be sensitive and emotive.'...
