Adolphe Leleux was the brother of the painter Armand Hubert Simon Leleux. He did not have a painting teacher and Alexandre Sixdeniers taught him engraving. From 1835 he exhibited at the Salon de Paris and won awards in 1842, 1843, and 1848. Leleux was made a Chevalier of the Légion d'Honneur in 1855. He painted Breton and Algerian subjects and views of the Pyrenées. He also painted scenes from the 1848 Revolution....
