Painter, draughtsman. Portraits, landscapes, still-lifes.

Marc Ronet studied under sculptor Dodeigne at the Institut St Luc in Brussels, then at the École des Arts Appliqués in Paris in 1959 and 1960. Joining forces with Dodeigne, Eugène Leroy, Arthur van Hecke and the musician Pierre Jansen he participated, with the Groupe de Roubaix, in the renewal of art and ideas after the war. His subjects are simple, limited to a few things - a pot, a head, trees. His reflection on painted figuration has led him to consider the materials of the painting, the stretcher and support. Though not intellectually close to Analyical Abstraction, his work can yield similar results....
