Yann Toma lives and works in Paris. He became president of the Ouest-Lumière Company (an electricity company), and he organises his work around his industrial activities concerned with light. In his paintings and installations, he endeavours to present the vestiges of an industrial past, its soul and atmosphere, and the impossible struggle of humankind to achieve mastery over matter.
