Frédérique Vallet-Bisson was a pupil of Jules Lefebvre. She earned herself a considerable reputation for paintings of expressive figures, some of which were reproduced in chromolithography - particularly by the Champenois company - for advertising purposes. She was a member of the Société des Artistes Français from 1891, taking part in their Salons regularly. She won an honourable mention in 1893, a third-place medal in 1900 and a second-place medal in 1904, and was made a Chevalier of the Légion d'Honneur in 1914....
