After enlisting in the German Army in 1943 and being taken prisoner in Italy in 1945, Dietrich Albert Fischer-Dieskau, the lyrical bass-baritone, studied at the Berlin Conservatory for two years. As a self-taught painter, he has shown his works in solo and group exhibitions in Japan and Europe....
