Antidepressant pharmacotherapy exerts pro-cognitive effects in MDD, with no compelling evidence that any class antidepressants is more superior over another.

Non-ECT neurostimulatory approaches are associated with less cognitive impairment, and some lines of evidence to suggest indicate that in some MDD subpopulations these neurostimulatory approaches may benefit neurocognition.
