A mixture of trimethoprin, which is antibacterial, and a sulfonamide antibiotic, sulphamethoxazole, that is used to treat Pneumocystis jirovecii pneumonia, toxoplasmosis, and nocardiasis. There appears to be a synergistic effect when the two drugs are used in conjunction.
