Fermat's last theorem

Show Summary Details

Quick Reference

The statement that, for all integers n>2, the equation xn+yn=zn has no solution in positive integers. Fermat wrote in the margin of a book that he had a proof of this, but as he never repeated the claim it is likely that he realized the incompleteness of his supposed proof. Much research was done over centuries until a proof was completed in 1995 by Andrew * Wiles.
