Broom, Herbert (1815–1882), legal writer, was born at Kidderminster, the eldest son of Herbert Broom, a manufacturer, and his wife, Rebecca, daughter of Richard Watson. He was educated at Lant Carpenter's school in Bristol before entering Trinity College, Cambridge, in 1832, where he graduated BA as forty-first wrangler in 1837, MA in 1854, and LLD in 1864. ...
